Cutting the line
Traffic jams. On Sept. 1, at 9:15 a.m., Public Safety was performing traffic control during move-in near the Visitor’s Lot. As traffic was being stopped in one direction to let others proceed, a vehicle drove off of the roadway, through the grass and into the parking lot to avoid the traffic. Public Safety promptly stopped the driver and identified the student. This matter has been referred to the Office of Community Standards.
Mechanical Mishaps
Elevator troubles. On Sept. 1, at 12:08 p.m., Public Safety was dispatched to Moore Hall for the report of five people trapped inside the elevator. Public Safety arrived on location and contacted everyone in the elevator to make sure they were okay. Public Safety was able to get the elevator down to the first floor and get everyone out safely. Facilities management then arrived on location to make repairs and ensure the proper operation of the elevator.
Unwelcome Odors
A scent diffused. On Sept. 2, at 12:25 p.m., Public Safety was performing a park, walk and talk of Conover Hall. As they were checking the second floor A-wing of the building, they detected the odor of marijuana. Public Safety attempted to find the source of the odor, but it dissipated before anything could be found.
