Staff Bios
Samantha Clark, executive editor, (she/her)
Samantha Clark is a junior communication studies major with a minor in sports media. Clark began writing for The Rider News in 2025 with coverage of women’s basketball and lacrosse, where she later became the sports editor for the 2025-26 school year. In Rider’s Department of Communication, Journalism and Media, Clark was named the 2024-25 Freshman of the Year and the 2025-26 Sophomore Journalist of the Year. Additionally, she was awarded First Place in Editorial Writing by the New Jersey Press Foundation for an article written alongside Cal Sutton. In the summer of 2026, Clark worked as an intern for TriCounty Baseball, conducting pre-and-post game interviews and running social media accounts for the 11 semi-professional baseball teams in South Jersey. Outside of the newsroom, she is a student in the Baccalaureate Honors Program and a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, where she serves as the chapter’s Vice President Philanthropy & Service. Cal Sutton, managing editor, (he/him)
Cal Sutton is a junior journalism major with a minor in political science. Throughout his time at The Rider News, Sutton held the positions of copy editor his freshman year and news editor sophomore year before becoming the managing editor for his junior year. He has written articles in the news, features and opinion sections since October 2024. Sutton was awarded the 2024-25 Freshman Journalist of the Year from Rider’s Department of Communication, Journalism and Media. He also won a first place New Jersey Press Foundation award in Editorial Writing for an article written with Samantha Clark. Sutton also won a 2025 Region 1 Mark of Excellence award in general news writing from the Society of Professional Journalists. Sutton is involved in organizations outside of the news such as being co-founder and vice president of Rider University Crochet Club and secretary of Soulfege A Cappella. Brannagh Rattigan, news editor, (she/her)
Brannagh Rattigan is a sophomore journalism major. Rattigan began writing for The Rider News in the Fall of 2025 in the news and features sections and stepped into the news editor position at the end of the spring 2026 semester. Outside of The Rider News, Rattigan is a part of 107.7 The Bronc’s news team, reporting twice a week on The Bronc News Flash. Additionally, she is a student in the Baccalaureate Honors Program, a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon and a member of Rider University Crochet Club. Sofia Santiago, features editor, (she/her)
Sofia Santiago is a junior English and Spanish double major with a minor in political science. Outside of the newsroom, she is the vice president of Rider’s Pulse K-Pop Dance Crew, a member of the Rider Model United Nations and president of the newly formed Club de Español. Alfie Eville, opinion editor, (he/him)
Alfie Eville is a sophomore secondary education and history major. Eville began writing in the fall semester of 2025, primarily focusing on film reviews. Outside of The Rider News, Eville enjoys reading, sports, and of course movies and television. Joshua Yuhas, sports editor, (he/him)
Joshua Yuhas is a senior sports media major. Starting as a sports beat writer with The Rider News in Fall 2025, he began with coverage of a variety of Rider Athletics competitions, interviewing coaches and players while becoming the sports editor for the 2026-2027 academic year. In his first year at Rider, he was awarded the 2025-26 Junior Journalist of the Year from the Department Of Communication, Journalism and Media. Outside of the newsroom, Yuhas produced sports reports and broadcasted basketball and baseball with 107.7 The Bronc, becoming the News Director on the executive staff for the 2026-27 year. In the summer of 2026, he worked as an intern with Jersey Baseball Nation to cover the East Coast Collegiate Baseball League, a summer collegiate baseball league for current and future college baseball players, working play-by-play and color commentary alongside working with the coaches and players on interviews and content to be used in broadcasts and social media. Grace Juarez, graphic design manager, (she/her)
Grace Juarez is a senior graphic design major. Throughout her junior year, she created graphics for The Rider News before stepping into the role of graphic design manager. Outside of The Rider News, Juarez is a part of 107.7 The Bronc’s executive staff as copy director, as well as The Bronc’s news team. Abby Ray, multimedia editor, (she/her)
Abby Ray is a senior film and television major with a minor in theatre design & technology. After being a freelance photographer for The Rider News, she stepped into the Multimedia Editor position at the end of her Junior year. Throughout her time at Rider, she has been a crucial part of many short films and theatre productions, building connections with students and exploring her creativity. She has also earned a place of honor on the Dean’s List every semester and will be graduating a year early. Teagan Rotella, copy editor, (she/her)
Teagan Rotella is a sophomore journalism major. Rotella began writing for The Rider News in the Fall of 2025 in the Features and Entertainment section. At the end of her freshman year, she became a copy editor, hoping to gain more experience in the newsroom. Outside of The Rider News, she is a Social Media Editor at 107.7 The Bronc, a proud sister of Alpha Xi Delta, and a student in the Baccalaureate Honors Program. During her first year, she received the 2026 Rider Freshman Journalist of The Year Award and made the Dean’s List for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Jenna Munswami, copy editor, (she/her)
Jenna Munswami is a senior communication studies major. Throughout her time at the university, she was a writer for The Rider News, mainly focusing on opinion pieces that cover fashion. This experience led her to becoming a copy editor after her junior year. Munswami is also a member of the Rider Aikido Club and serves as the treasurer. Mallory Hoelzl, social media editor, (she/they)
Mallory Hoelzl is a junior public relations and theatre-making major. Throughout her freshman and sophomore year, she has made graphics and social media content for The Rider News, which helped her to step into the role of social media editor at the end of her sophomore year. While at Rider, she stepped into the role of Director of Communications of Spectrum Pride Alliance only two months into her freshman year and was the Public Relations/Recruitment Manager for the Cranberry Collective for the 2025-26 school year. She is also involved in Rider University’s Public Relations Student Society of America, and has interned at CM Performing Arts Center in the summer of 2026, creating social media content to advertise their mainstage summer production of Hairspray. She has made the Dean’s List every semester and has been involved in multiple clubs and organizations including the Rider Pep Band, Noted A Cappella, and the Rider Jazz Band. She pursues theater performance in her free time, and theater tech as part of her theatre-making degree, specializing in sound. Tatyanna Beauliere-Jackson, social media editor, (she/her)
Tatyanna Beauliere-Jackson is a senior marketing major. Throughout Jackson’s junior year, she created social media content for The Rider News. Her Rider career has consisted of being a tour guide and making social media content for the Rider University Admissions TikTok page and working at the Career Development and Success Center her freshman year. She is involved in the American Marketing Association. In spring of 2025 she participated in DataFest with a team of 5 placing “Best Presentation.” During the summer, she manages her hobbies of learning French, reading fantasy and maintaining her personal social media platforms for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for fun. Matthew Cirola, circulation manager, (he/him)
Matthew Cirola is a senior theatre design and technology major. He has been the circulation manager for the past two years. Outside of The Rider News, Matthew is a lead tour guide, a brother of Theta Chi Fraternity and a member of the Rider Pep Band.

Raven Syed, copy editor (he/him)
Raven Syed is a sophomore majoring in actuarial science and currently works at The Rider News as a copy editor. Outside of the newspaper, Syed is the Treasurer for The Rider Pep Band and works for The Academic Success Center as an embedded tutor for finite mathematics. Syed’s interests include music, martial arts and foreign languages.
